In 1992 the Olympic Games were celebrated in Barcelona. The event had many important moments that went down in the history of the Olympics.

The accurate arrow of the archer that lighted the Olympic flame, the exceptional installations and the massive participation of the voluntary citizens caused that the media and the athletes agreed in categorizing them as the best Olympic Games in history.

Antonio Rebollo, a well-known paralympic archer from Madrid, was the one to shot the spectacular flaming arrow that lit the cauldron. This moment was a turning point of the spectacle and the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Ring is the architectonic and touristic legacy of the event. It is an ensemble of installations located on the Montjuïc mountain. There are different buildings for sportive and cultural purposes. Nowadays this place remembers us the Olympic spirit that Barcelona lived with a lot of passion and that is still present in every citizen, as it marked a milestone in the history of the city.

The Tower of Telecommunications of Montjuïc was created by the famous Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava for the Olympics. It is a white tower made of steel of 136 meters of height with a shape that remembers us the body of an athlete. The base is covered with a trencadis, a reference to Gaudi.
