The Barri de Gràcia – district of Gràcia- will be decorated again in August on the occasion of its biggest festivity; and this year it is been organised in a memorable way because the festivity celebrates its bicentennial anniversary.

This can’t-miss event will take place from the 15th to the 21st of August. Even though, there have been organised more than 400 different activities to be enjoyed during all the year. These activities have been conceived by the residents of the district and of the rest of Barcelona: contests, sport activities, concerts, workshops…, and everything in the incomparable atmosphere of this gorgeously adorned quarter.

Moreover, since more or less three months ago, there is a wonderful marquee installed at Jardinets de Gràcia. Its opening took place the 2nd of May by the president of the Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont, and it is home to the inaugural exhibition, named L’envelat –The marquee-. This point will be the scene of the major part of the events of these festivities as well, and it will be home to concerts, exhibitions and plays.

Festes de Gràcia are one of the most awaited celebrations of the summer. Its agenda is very complete and it offers activities for all ages. But the most attractive is, without any doubt, the decoration of the streets. The residents join forces to create, design and decorate the streets; this effort finishes with a contest of the best decorated street. In the last edition, visitors could enjoy the streets inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones and the surf culture of California.

Do not miss the occasion and discover which the inspiration of the neighbours is; take the most of Barcelona City Tour hop-on hop-off service and get off the official tourist bus of the city at the stop 13 of the East Route: Park Güell. From that point, you will be able to get to these streets and immerse yourself in the recreations conceived by the locals of Barcelona.
