May 18 is the International Museum Day and it is celebrated all around the world since 1977.
As usual in recent years, museums associated to the network of local museums of the Diputació de Barcelona, an official organisation of the province of Barcelona which includes 67 museums and cultural equipment of the region, are opening doors on Saturday 20th at night. They are organising a wide range of activities from 7pm on: concerts, dancing, workshops, special expositions, guided tours…, and much more. Museums at Night offers you the chance to enjoy the cultural part of the city of Barcelona in a different way and completely for free.
With the official tourist bus of the city you will be able to approach the museum in which you are more interested. What are the options? We suggest you our two favourite ones:
Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau: Do not miss this magnificent architectural work designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner at the same time you relax in the gardens of the complex with live music played by well-known music bands such as Dixie Band Taller de Músics or Son de Rambla. You can go to that point getting off the bus at stop 12 (Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau), East Route.
La Pedrera: The Casa Milà by Gaudí also opens doors offering a very special night to its visitors. If you want to enjoy a nice time in a fantastic atmosphere, do not forget to book from the 8th of May on. Please remember there are limited spaces. Get off the bus at the stop La Pedrera, the number 18 of the West Route or the number 15 of the East Route.
